Carhartt was founded by Hamilton Carhartt in 1889 in Detroit. Originally Carhartt did workwear for example overalls of tough denim fabric and duck canvas.
In 1994 Carhartt Work In Progress (Carhartt WIP) was established in Europe. Carhartt WIP is following the legacy of the authentic Carhartt products updating the classics to the modern day.
Carhartt WIP works closely with skater in Europe, sponsoring a bunch of talented skaters such as Pontus Alv, Hjalte Halberg, Julian Furones, Phil Zwijsen, Sylvain Tognelli, Michal Juras and a couple of Finnish skaters as well - Jussi Toropainen and Pete Ruikka who is also a part of Lamina skate team.
